You know what one of the best parts of life is? That literally every moment is a chance to start again. It doesn’t matter how many times you’ve felt knocked down, or how mad you’ve been at yourself for not doing what you know you should be doing, or how many times you’ve carried over an item from your To Do list - at any given moment you can turn and go the other direction or start something new or return to something you walked away from. How exciting is that?
I put a print above my bathroom sink that says, “It's a beautiful day to start.” I needed to remind myself that those dreams I’ve tucked away in a corner of my heart have permission to come out on any given day that I choose to pursue them. History and reality tells me that “today” is most likely next month, or unfortunately even next year, but my heart flutters at the thought that maybe today is the day I return to things I love and that make my stomach clench up in excitement and nervousness. So that reminder stares patiently and encouragingly back at me, pushing me to start – in any way I can – moving towards the things I know I’m meant to be doing.
So today is that day! I started. I intentionally set aside time to write and to log back into my blog, and I haven’t set any other goal besides to just start. I don’t even care if anyone reads this. But to me it’s a big deal because it symbolizes finally saying yes to the voice in my heart that for whatever reason I’ve pushed away for way too long. So I’m celebrating this little victory (I’m a big believer in celebrating for any and every reason), and I’m grateful for the chorus of encouraging voices that have continued to push me towards what they know matters to me (I’m also a huge believer in surrounding yourself with people who see and bring out the best in you).
Ok, that’s all for now. But I’ve got more planned so I will hopefully be back soon. To anyone who has read my blog, or left kind comments, or been apart of following my journey in any way – Thank you. My hope is to use this space to relate, encourage, inspire, and connect to anyone who might need a little extra light and love in their life. I’m so glad you’re here.
From my heart,
