I wore this outfit awhile back but just got around to snapping some pics with Miss Bettina last weekend. This skirt is actually one of those sheer/short-slip underneath type skirts (originally seen here) and I've never been super crazy about how it looked on me. When I thought of this outfit, I knew I wanted to wear this skirt, but needed to figure out a way to not make it half sheer. Plus it was pretty cold so I needed to be warmer as well. After a few failed ideas, I finally thought to try my long black maxi dress on underneath to act as a slip and an extra layer and it totally did the trick!
I was pretty proud of my invention, not gonna lie. I always love when I'm able to think outside of the box when putting together outfits because it reminds me that my clothes don't have to be limited to just one way of being worn. Are there any fun, inventive ways you've re-purposed your clothing in order to wear it in a new way?

ReplyDeleteI love that idea! I have turned down skirts because they were that awkward long/short length, now I just feel silly.

I love this look! I wish I could find a maxi skirt that would work on me...I'm short so all of them look long and ridiculous. No fun!

Oh my gosh - thanks for this! I always get so disappointed with F21's maxi skirts because they're SO cute but SO short (the slip is, anyway). This is a great idea!
ReplyDeleteLove finding new uses for dresses, whether it be as a slip or a skirt! Great outfit!
