Here are some of the "postcard" shots from our road trip around half the country last week (people pics to come). I still can't stop being so thankful I got to experience such an amazing trip. I don't think I was prepared for the amount of beauty I was going to encounter through these parts of the country. I had been looking forward to each of our destinations, but didn't realize that our long days of driving would be some of the times we were most blown away by our surroundings. Picture a car full of gasping and squealing girls as we wove our way through canyons and ravines and yellow tree-lined rivers, red rock formations, snow capped mountains and glowing sunsets. Grazing bison, golden fields, sulfur springs, and bald eagles. It was truly incredible.
Nature has always been one of the ways that I feel God speaks His love to me most clearly. It's as if I hear Him saying, "Sara I made this for you. I created vast canyons, soaring mountains, and incredible sunsets to give you just the tiniest glimpse of how much I love you. And just as I created this beautiful world you get to enjoy, I also created you beautifully and intricately and I care about you infinitely more than any rock or tree or Grand Canyon I could ever come up with."
There were many times I was moved to tears (especially at the Grand Canyon) due to the feeling of being so overwhelmed by His love for me. You guys, we have an amazing Creator who love us so, so much. And I am beyond thankful for this beautiful world He allowed us to live in. I hope you are reminded of His beauty and deep love for you today. It is pretty incredible.

ReplyDeleteGorgeous pictures!!! I agree about God speaking to us through Nature. Too bad we don't always listen. Your road trip is amazing. Some day I would love to take my son to those places. I've been to Vegas and to Yellowstone as a child and loved it.
