Striped Dresses With Sleeves

Striped Dresses

Top to Bottom, Left to Right: Topshop Sparkle Stripe Dress - $120, H&M Striped Sweater Dress - $32, H&M Striped Dress - $21, Anna & Boy Stripe Pool Dress - $233, Old Navy Striped Color-Block Dress - $25, H&M Knit Dress - $32, Marlene Birger Neiva Hello Sailor Dress - $150, Old Navy Ruched Jersey Dress - $20

The other day I was "passing through" Forever 21 and after accidentally trying on a few things that didn't work (thankfully), I spotted a plain coral long sleeved cotton dress that was only around $8 that I couldn't help but grab. I didn't even try it on and I ended up loving it! (Outfit post coming soon I hope). It was later that I started wishing I could have it in every color (especially at that price) and realized something about long sleeved dresses and myself. I think if I had to choose one style of clothing to capture who I am, it would be a long (or 3/4 length) sleeved dress. Something about how it is classy, yet still feminine and sexy in a way, I don't know, I just love them!

So anyways, I love the thought of this type of dress in a navy/white or black/white striped pattern and decided to do a little round up of some of my favorites! I especially love that coral and gray color-blocked one from Old Navy and then love the idea of one in a cozy sweater form as well. I tried to keep them under $50, but threw a couple of splurge dresses in there as well (love that top right one!)

Do you have one article of clothing that you feel defines your style? It would be so interesting to hear what other people say about themselves!

  1. I have the capped-sleeve version of this striped dress from H&M. At $10 is was a steal and very flattering. Can't wait to dress it up with a bright cardigan and pair of opaque tights / boots as the weather cools off.

My signature look is probably a tank top and jeans with a pair of low heels, so I like dresses to mix it up a little!

  8. I love the H&M knit dress! I'm also a fan of this sillouette...I think if your showing a lil leg then you should cover up a bit more on top so this works perfect.

  10. Love the stripes, they're always so flattering. And I love them on a dress with a 3/4 sleeve, I always feel sexy but not hookerish haha.
