How To Wear: White After Labor Day

Hi guys! I'm excited to announce a fun new bloggers collaboration I was invited to be a part of by the adorable and totally stylish Jen behind Jenny in Jacquard! She asked me, Jessica of Bows and Sequins, and Tara of Mix and Match Fashion to share our own interpretations of different style challenges or themes in a post we feature every couple of weeks. The idea is to give each of our readers even more ways to be inspired to tackle a certain fashion question or theme by showcasing 4 unique looks.

So here is our first feature! This idea came from Miss Jenny and it's "How to Wear White After Labor Day." I'm still not entirely clear on why that rule was created in the first place, because I'm pretty sure white can easily be incorporated into every season. For my look I decided to wear my white skinny jeans with neutral grays and then fun pops of bright color. I would easily wear this outfit into fall because it feels cozy and yet still bright and cheery - just my style!

Make sure you check out how each girl styled this challenge for themselves. You can see Jessica's outfit here, Jenny's outfit here, and Tara's outfit here! So fun to partner with such sweet and stylish ladies :)

Gap Sweater, ILY Couture Necklace (c/o), Forever 21 Jeans (similar), GoJane Heels (old)

And once again thank you Ally for doing such an incredible job with my photos!! You are amazing. (See her work here and contact her at allystepp@gmail.com)

How do you feel about white after Labor Day? Yes? No? Who cares? Lay it on me.

xoxo

  15. Hi Sara-
I've been reading your blog for a few weeks now. It's fantastic. I couldn't help but laugh today because I wrote about 'winter white' today also. Great minds think alike! I'm only about 40 posts into the blogging thing (not really out of the closet yet- have only told a few girlfriends), it started as my summer hobby.

  21. I loved with collaboration with such stylish girls! I don't know where that "no white after Labor Day" rule came from either, but it's made to be broken! I love how you styled those jeans for fall--I would definitely rock this look! Seeing you on Mix & Match Fashion (one of my favorites!) and Friday's Fancies made me want to come visit your blog. I'm glad I did, you have great style!
