Last night I got inspired to clean up my shoe collection a little bit, as well as make it more visible in my room. The floor of my closet was getting kind of ridiculous, and I love the thought of having my favorite shoes on display, almost as decoration. So I pulled out an old bookshelf from the garage (I got this one at Target - you can get it here) and filled it up with shoes! Now the ones I reach for more often are neat, organized, and easily accessible! And my closet is a little bit more manageable.
While I was at it, I thought I would share some of the other ways I organize my favorite pretty things. I did this in a post a long time ago, but thought I could do it again for anyone who missed it :)
Life saving coat rack that holds all my necklaces (similar one here, you could probably DIY it too)
Ceramic market basket for my bracelets, rings, and watches (similar one here)
And how cute is that mason jar soap container?? My roommate made it for me!
Next thing on my list is a pretty tray to hold perfume, rings, and any other small things I might want left out instead of stashed in a drawer somewhere. Any organizing tips you'd like to share? I'd love to hear them!

ReplyDeleteVery cute. I love the fruit holder to store your bracelets and that! I have seen those at Anthro and keep wanting one. Now that have a new creative use even better.
ReplyDeleteUsing a bookshelf for shoes is a great idea! I have one of those shoe rack things that hang on your closet door, but heels don't usually fit in it.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the bookcase with the shoes. I saw a great white one with glass doors over the weekend- if only I had the space! I store all of my bracelets w. clasps flat on an antique silver tray along with my perfumes. It adds sparkle and looks so pretty :)
