Lacey Tops and Beachy Waves

Frenchi Top, Forever 21 skirt (similar), Forever 21 belt,  Forever 21 shoes (old, but kinda similar here)

Bettina and I were finally reunited so we could snap some outfit photos together, and we lucked out with a beautiful summer night and some delicious Mexican food at my favorite restaurant on the island - Picante Martin's. Happy girl right here.

I just got this top last week and have already worn it several times. Lacey things are high on my list of items I could constantly wear. I realized that even with this same outfit, I could create two different looks by wearing it over the skirt and belted, and then tucked in (I wore it tucked out all day, especially since this skirt requires serious sucking in dedication if you want to wear it in all of it's high waisted glory).

Also, a note about my hair. I recently tried a tutorial I got off pinterest (pin here, actual tutorial here), only I just now realized I've been doing it wrong (I followed the pin's comment instructions without clicking on the actual source), but regardless, I'm pretty pleased with this discovery. It basically involves twisting your hair and running your straightener over it to create "beachy waves." While it's not as pretty as wrapping it around a curling iron, it gives your hair instant texture and waves and is super easy. Next time I'll try braiding and then twisting, but give it a try and see what you think! Tips: the bigger the sections the better, run your fingers through your hair afterwards to separate it and loosen up the waves, and then finish with hairspray :)

Have a happy day!
