Hair Confessions

Hello friends! Happy Monday! So I decided I wanted to let you in a little secret of mine (for those that don't already know) and that is that one of my favorite accessories are my clip-in extensions I have and honestly love so much! I originally bought them before my brother's wedding that I was in since I wanted to wear my hair down and have it look thick and pretty and long. I had always wanted real extensions, but they're so expensive and I've heard they're not the best for your hair (though I've had some friends who've had them and their hair has been just fine, so I will still probably get them someday). A friend told me about these clip-in ones you can buy that are still real hair (so you can dye them, and style them with heat) but are obviously temporary and not as damaging, with less cost and up-keep to them. Sounded great to me!

So I wore them to the wedding (and loved how it made my hair look) and then wear them whenever I feel like having longer looking hair! (Including outfit posts on this blog). At first I was kind of weird when it came to telling people about them, something about clip-in extensions just sounds trashy to me, I don't know. But then I realized: 1. It's probably obvious that my hair magically changes lengths from time to time, 2. It's not terribly different from girls wearing makeup or push-up bras or spanx or fake eyelashes or anything else to look a little cuter or "enhanced", 3. I feel guilty every time someone comments saying I have pretty hair when I have these in (I needed to give credit where credit was due haha) and 4. Why wouldn't I share one of my favorite products with my readers?!

They may be a little trashy still (feel free to judge me, I can take it), but here's why I think they're awesome: 

• They look pretty dang real to me 
• I love that I can dye them and curl and straighten them if I want 
• Though they seemed expensive at first, when I divide them by how many times I wear them (you guys know you use that trick to justify purchases too), they are actually super reasonable 
• And I kind of like that I can change the look of my hair from day to day! (and save on blow drying time)

So that's my random product plug for the week! And now you know my little secret. I bought mine at Sally's Beauty Supply - the exact ones I got are here, but there are other brands and kinds you can buy as well. If you do get clip-in extensions, make sure you buy real hair, otherwise you won't be able to style or dye it at all.
