Memorial Day Weekend

Here are some pictures and highlights from my lovely, relaxing Memorial Day weekend:

A stop at Joe's donuts on the way to Sunriver. So yummy.

Driving through every weather system imaginable on our way there: rain, snow, hail, sunny blue skies. What a silly state Oregon is.

Getting to hold Kori's sweet baby Riley! I needed some baby snuggling time.

Intense snow at the end of May. At this point all we could do is laugh.

I went home on Sunday night and got to hang out with my Dad (Mom is still down in CA). We ordered pizza and watched the King's Speech and had a great night together :) Plus their home is finally starting to look summery! Yay. Can't wait for summer weekend trips out there.

Even though the weather wasn't ideal this weekend, it was exactly what I needed. Some time away with good friends, complete laziness and relaxation, nail painting, a snuggly baby, walks, Arrested Development, pizza and wine, board games, and time at home with my Dad. Then I finished it off with an unexpected visit from a college friend and her hubby-to-be for dinner at Oba! Now it's a short week with lots to look forward to on the horizon! Hope you had a wonderful weekend as well! xoxo

P.S. As if I needed another form of social media in my life, I decided to get a twitter this weekend (there were some people and bloggers I really wanted to follow!) So feel free to follow my little life if you wish :)

Pieces of Glitter

One of my college roomies and her hubby coming to stay with me last weekend and getting to show them around Portland. So good to see her!

Me and Sarah hittin the town on Friday night. I like this picture. Sarah next time do my eye makeup alright?? ;)

Gold nails and champagne

Breakfast by myself at Pearl Bakery last weekend. That pastry had an orange zest flavor to it (like those delicious rolls you make for Thanksgiving Aunt Susan) and was delish!

Furry kitty on a sunny balcony

New favorite Kombucha flavor: Clear Mind by Dr. Townshend's Tea Company (Portland-based company)

I'll be honest, most of the things that are making me happy are things I'm looking forward to. Like my 3 day weekend in Sunriver with friends, birthday next week (!), birthday party next week, then Vegas the week after that! Hanging on to every hope of sunshine I can get :) Have a marvelous Memorial Day weekend!! xoxo

Kitten Hugs

My heart just about explodes every time I watch this clip. The cuteness is out of control.

Can Someone Take Me Here??

All images from here

I think literal tears formed in my eyes when I saw these pictures and thought about what it would be like to stay in a place like this. This is an actual villa for rent in Santorini, Greece. When I went to Santorini, we ate dinner at a place with a similar view to this and I really thought I had died and gone to Heaven. There is nothing like Greece. I need a vacation so badly...

Outdoor Spaces

I have still yet to purchase a patio set for my balcony, but as it gets closer and closer to summer, it's slowly becoming a high priority that I find something. Usually I just pull my computer chair outside to eat my lunch on when the sun is shining, but I would love a cute little table with two chairs that I can eat on, read from, and sip my wine at. Here are some pictures of lovely inspiration for my current space, and then someday my future space:

If you already follow my "Homey" Pinterest board, I apologize, since most of these are from there. That site has been bringing me so much joy, I can't even explain.

Do you have a favorite outdoor space you get to enjoy? Any fabulous furniture suggestions you want to give me? I will make sure I take pictures when I finally have everything set up. Can't wait!

Nail Polish on the Brain

Last week I had my lovely Broadway Nails on for over a week (compliments received was at an all-time high, it cracks me up) and I started feeling a little oppressed in the nail creativity department. So I've been brainstorming creative designs and fun colors to put on my nails and wanted to share some of my favorite pics (via my Dazzling Digits pinterest board), and colors I'm dreaming of.

Pieces of Glitter

All it really takes to make me incredibly happy is the sunshine. Which definitely made a much-needed and glorious appearance here in Portland this week. But I also had a busy, fun-packed week so it made for extra doses of happiness! Here are some highlights:

Movies and Mimosas with Sarah (on a Monday - keeping up the tradition!)

Checked out a new restaurant/lounge/bar in Portland: YOLO
We drank prosecco and ate yummy food and got a personal tour of all the rooms and the coming soon parts as well from the owner. Don't you love Elena's dress in this picture?? (Zara) I love how it matches the pillows :)

Fancy food presentation at YOLO

Being able to walk home from happy hour and shopping on such a gorgeous and peaceful night

How Portland comes alive when the sun is out. And Jamison Square, one of my favorite places in Portland. I could watch the giddy little kids playing the water for hours

My super yum burrito from Laughing Planet (with edamame!) and my strawberry lemonade to go with it. Eaten outside in the sun :)

The view from Jackie's amazing home in the Met where we had Marci's baby shower. I could stare at this view for hours (and you can see my building in there too! :)

...And the view just a couple hours later. I love how the light changes

K yup, everything still revolves around the sun or nice weather. I told you I'm a sunshiney summer girl.

I'm hittin the town tonight and then get to have one of my college roomies and her husband stay with me on Saturday - yay for visitors! Don't forget to check out the West Elm Event on Saturday if you need something to do! Have a fabulous weekend!! xoxo

Endless Summer

I wish there was a way to count the number of times a day I either say out loud, or think in my head, "I can't wait for summer." Or when it's actually here, "I love summer." It is hands down my favorite season. By a land slide. Living in Portland has only intensified my love for sun and warmth as well. (This won't be my permanent residence, I can assure you of that). I could list reasons for days why summer is the best, but instead I would like to share with you my perfect seasons/weather calendar that I recently shared with my Dad. Here you go:

Summer: March - September. 75-80 degrees. Maybe a few random days of rain thrown in. But those are only allowed in March or April.

Fall: October - November. Brisk and sunny mornings (and by "brisk" I mean 50-60 degrees). A scarf and a light jacket would suffice. Moderate afternoons (65).

Winter: December - January. And by "winter" I mean in the 50's so that you can get in a couple months worth of wearing cute winter clothes - boots, scarves, coats, tights, layers. There can be some days of rain and clouds allowed (not to exceed a total of 4 weeks total), and one day of snow and that's on Christmas. Otherwise the sun is still mostly there, just a little chillier.

Spring: February. Spring is my least favorite season. So February can be the one month transition from 50s/60s to 70s and I guess more flowers and trees can bloom.

Perfection!!!

Find me this land and I will move there. Oh wait, I think I already know such a place where this type of heaven exists...

What's your favorite season? And does the weather affect where you choose to live?

West Elm Etsy Event

Hi guys! I've already mentioned how much I love West Elm, and how it's conveniently located in my building. Then I was invited to a pop-up event they're doing with Etsy this weekend and was so excited! The event will feature local Portland Etsy sellers and there will be food, drinks and music that you can enjoy while shopping the different sellers and West Elm! So fun! I am planning on stopping by (pretty easy commute for me) and wanted to pass along the invite to anyone else in Portland that might be interested! Here are the details:

What: West Elm Etsy Event
Where: West Elm in the Pearl (1201 NW Couch St)
When: Saturday May 21st from 1-6pm
Who: These Etsy sellers
R.S.V.P.: Here

I checked out all the Etsy sites and picked a few of my favorite items from them. Can't wait to see everything in person!

Roomie's Wedding

My beautiful (past) roomie's wedding was this weekend and it was so fun. She looked amazing and I was so proud to see all the things she's been working on for so long come to fruition. We definitely danced the night away so I spent most of Sunday being lazy and in recovery. And I already have a fun and busy week lined up which I love. Here are some of my favorite pictures from the wedding and I hope you had a lovely weekend as well!!

Our awesome shoes and Roomie's bouquet

Me and Anna. Loved our bridesmaid dresses and shoes!

The gorgeous bride!!

Old roomies!

This scene took my breath away. (This is her backyard by the way)

Bridesmaids, Bride, and precious Ring Bearer!

Her family's barn that they decorated themselves

We've all been roomies at one point or another :)

Have a marvelous Monday!! xoxo
