Girly Glam Nails

Hi friends! I kind of feel like I've been MIA from the blog world, I miss you guys! I haven't had too much time in front of a computer the last several days (it's been pretty nice actually) so I'll try and make up for lost time. Got back from Vancouver tonight and had such a great trip there! I can't wait to show you some of the awesome pics I got, but I want to take a little more time going through them and deciding how I want to post them. So for now, I will share a "nail tutorial" that I did a couple weeks ago. I actually did this for The Beauty Department's guest post contest, but didn't win :( This girl did and they are really pretty! But I still wanted to share, even if it's just for Allison's sake :) So here you go!

Lately I have been experimenting with ways to jazz up my basic manicures and loved the thought of adding some dazzling silver glitter to pretty pale pink nails in a unique way. You may want to pick out your favorite movie to throw on in the background because this takes some time!

1. Gather your materials: two polishes of your choice (I went with pale pink and silver glitter), satin tape, and a good top coat.

2. Paint your nails with the base color. I went with two coats for an even look. Then let your nails COMPLETELY dry!

3. Tear off small pieces of tape and press them against your skin to get rid of some of the sticky-ness. Then tape off your nails, allowing a strip of nail to stay exposed in the middle.

4. Paint the glitter onto your nails and tape, fully covering the exposed strip (I painted several coats of glitter to make sure it was extra sparkly!)

5. Repeat for all the nails on one hand, then let the glitter dry for as long as you can.

6. Remove the strips of tape carefully, keeping a finger on the glitter to make sure it stays in place. Then paint a glossy top coat over them all and you're set!

Let me know if you give it a try and how they turn out! See you tomorrow with some Vancouver vacay pics. Have a happy day :)

xoxo
