Trader Vic's Moves to My Street

In lieu of my "Pieces of Glitter" post this week, I thought I would just focus on one piece of glitter, and that was my previewing of the newly opened Trader Vic's Portland! Since I work on the blog team for my company, I weaseled my way into getting an invite to the VIP Media Night on Monday and also got invited to the friends and family (free!) mock dinner night on Tuesday as well! Pretty excited. Their grand opening is Monday August 1st and I love feeling like I got a sneak peak before the masses :)

I'll keep my review short (you can read my write-up for my work blog here), but basically I am VERY happy this restaurant is here. At first I was mostly looking forward to having a famous restaurant with fun tropical drinks just a few blocks away from me, but after sampling their food, beverages, and seeing the fun decor, I'm way more thrilled than I thought I would be. Food is delicious, drinks are yummy and strong, and all the staff are very nice. I may not be able to afford the main courses on a regular basis, but I will definitely be coming here for happy hour or drinks with friends when I feel the need to simulate a tropical vacation or just a return to my Southern California roots.
