My Summer Staycation

So as I mentioned last week, somewhat last minute I decided to pass on going out of town with friends for the weekend and instead enjoy a quiet weekend at home with myself. I made sure I planned things to do so I wouldn't get totally bored, and it turned out to be a pretty wonderful little weekend. I truly felt like I was on vacation, loved all the time I spent reading (I plan on doing a book review soon on the books I've been reading lately), the alone time, the sunshine, and the food I made for myself (look away now Dad, lots of food pictures ahead ;) Inside joke, sorry). By Monday I will say I got a little lonely, but fortunately some friends let me tag along to their firework watching party last night, which was gorgeous. Such a beautiful weekend in Portland. Hope you all had wonderful weekends as well and are ready for a short week ahead!

Laying out on the terrace with my book I could not put down. In love.

I marinated steaks for myself! Even followed a recipe and everything ;)

My dinner

Dessert and book on my couch after church

Went on a 2 hour bike ride around Portland Sunday morning

The gray city in the morning (it cleared up later luckily)

Made myself a little banana pancake brunch after

Our view before the firework show. You could literally see fireworks ALL around the city going off. It was amazing.

Happy 4th of July!

xoxo
