Two-Toned

I decided to try something new on my nails! I know this is by no means a new trend - I have seen it in magazines, blogs, and on friends' fingers before - but it is new to me. I was reminded of it on this blog the other day and thought I'd at least give it a whirl.

Wine + Ashes

To be honest I don't know how I feel about it. At first it kind of bothered me, but now I think it's growing on me. I first tried to do wine + lavendar, then that looked weird so I did wine + purple (see below) and even though I had about 3 people tell me they liked that better than the one I went with, I still didn't like it. The wine unfortunately keeps showing up black, which isn't the look I was going for.

Here are some other ideas I came up with that maybe I would end up liking better. The color on the left is the one most the nails will be painted, the one on the right is the ring finger. Or you could do "Blackberry Bling," a term I saw on All Lacquered Up, that refers to just painting your thumb with a different, complimentary glitter color so it can be seen while texting :)

Wine + Lavender

The combo I originally did but liked way better in the bottles than on my fingers.

Punchy Pink + Pink Chiffon

Super girly and summery. I like.

Gold + Silver

A little blingy, but maybe fun?

Magenta + Purple Glitter

Fun bright nails with a complimentary pop of glitter.

Black + Silver Glitter

An intense fancy contrast. Kind of like a tuxedo for your nails.

So I might try another one of these combos some day to see if it makes it any more appealing, but for now the verdict is still out.
