After starting my blog - and realizing the vulnerability and hard work it takes - I've noticed that the compliments I receive on it have become some of my most treasured affirmations. So I want to give shout-outs to the people I admire and always help promote my friends in any way I can!
Here are just a few of the many, many people that I am proud to call my friends:
Of course I am proud of my brother no matter what, but I truly began to notice how creative and talented he was in high school when he filmed and edited his own skateboarding videos. They were awesome! Later his clips would go on to be featured in big time skate vids. Then with his graphics design major in college, he blew me away with all of the things he was able to do. He has some of his work featured on his website and he is also the designer of my blog header which I love! Love you little brother.

| Lisa and Nicole, my two dear designer friends |
Nicole is hands down one of my most stylish friends, and has such a good eye when it comes to fashion and design. She currently works for interior designer Garrison Hullinger and writes for their blog which I absolutely love reading. Another must-follow if you enjoy looking at fabulous home interiors and getting great tips on design. So happy you get to be doing what you love Nicole!
Heather is an ex-roomie of mine who had a dream to start her own vintage store and then totally did! It was fun being there when it was all getting started :) So if you love vintage stuff, check out her blog and visit her store as well!
Sharaya is a friend of mine from church who has an unbelievably beautiful voice and has traveled across the country and now lives in Nashville to pursue her dream of being a singer/songwriter. I'm impressed by her talent and drive, and have no doubt she'll make it big someday. Check out one of my favorite songs by her: "Three Feet From Gold."
Tara is a friend from college with a gift for writing and a wonderful sense of taste and style. She has her own blog and then also writes for the fun and popular "Sugar" blog network including Casa Sugar which I love checking up on frequently. Plus her Pinterest boards are absolutely to die for.
And if you live in Portland you should...
- Have Bekah McGuire do your hair. She is awesome, affordable, and the sweetest, cutest girl ever! Plus their whole salon, Cashmere Beauty Lounge, is just lovely and they offer all kinds of services from hair to nails (Shellac) to facials to massages! I could hang out there all day!
- Get your eyebrows done by Amanda Strohecker. She works at Columbia Gorge Salon and Spa but I get the privilege of having my eyebrows done at her house. She is wonderful and hands down does the best job on my eyebrows out of anyone. See:
| K, well you can't see that well, but they're good ;) |
- Have Joy Childress make you a cake! My first roomie when I moved to Oregon is also an incredible baker. She is so wonderful at making and decorating cakes and treats and I absolutely LOVED the cake she made for my birthday! (Please note the tiara: perfection). Check out her blog for some of her other lovely creations as well.
So like I said, this is only a fraction of my talented and gifted friends, but they are people I feel are worth promoting and am proud to have in my life. Thanks to everyone who has given me support as well, it means the world. Hugs and kisses and happy weekend friends!
